We are excited to announce that we will be part of Open Studios Joburg with August House being open on Sunday 28 May from 10:30 to 4:00pm. As the largest artist studio space in the city, we provide visitors with an amazing overview of emerging, mid-career and established artists, all in one space.

Initiated by the META foundation, OPEN STUDIOS JOBURG is the largest on-the-ground arts festival in Joburg. This year’s event will highlight more than 11 studio buildings and art related spaces across the CBD of Johannesburg, giving you an opportunity to #explorethecity, #MeetTheArtists, #SeeTheWork and most importantly come and have some fun! Visitors can enjoy a programme of exhibitions, walkabouts, performance and design.

There will be a hop-on-hop off, free shuttle service available on the day. Six shuttles will move in two opposite loops between the buildings, with transport available every 15- 20 minutes. There will also be a separate shuttle leaving from Living Artist Emporium on the Sunday to connect to the RMB Latitudes Art Fair. This year’s event is ticketed, at R50 nominal fee. On the day, tickets will be R80 when you book online, and R100 for cash payments at the door. Book your ticket now by visiting Sunday 28 May. The tickets permit shuttle access. There is plenty of underground parking available here. You can park and then catch the shuttle to August House. 

With over a 160 artists participating and unique programming for the two days, OPEN STUDIOS JOBURG has become a landmark event on Joburg’s cultural calendar; directly supporting Joburg’s creative economy by creating a platform for artists to sell their work.
