L.N. Mthethwa was born in Kwa-Zulu Natal and raised in the United States. While her passion for the arts started at a young age, a more consistent and dedicated practice began in 2019. Her work explores the complexities of identity and existing in-between realms where cultures, traditions, and ideas clash. Through her practice, she explores the nuanced experience and quiet tension of feeling at home everywhere and nowhere. She is also inspired by her experience and background in humanitarian work, which has given her a unique global perspective on migration, human rights law, sustainability, and technology. Her work reflects a journey across borders and the alchemy found in cultural convergence and contrast.
